About us

CLOCKHOUSE is a national literary journal published by Clockhouse Writers’ Conference (CWC), a graduate community of the MFA in Creative Writing Program of the former Goddard College. The editorial staff is comprised of alumni of Goddard College who generously volunteer their time and talent to produce an amazing journal.

CLOCKHOUSE features poetry, prose, drama and creative nonfiction from established and emerging writers around the world. We publish an annual print journal and, starting with Volume 13, we post selections online. We nominate for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net.

The journal has included work from finalists for the National Book Award and American Book Award, and recipients of awards including a Guggenheim Fellowship, NEA Grant, Obie Award, PEN/Faulkner Award, and others.

CLOCKHOUSE debuted in 2013 in partnership between CWC and Goddard College. With the closing of the college in 2024, CWC has assumed full responsibility for the journal.
